Ice Maker Slow? Check These 3 Things First
Filter age, water pressure and freezer temperature — the three usual suspects, in order.
First, the filter: a water filter past six months chokes flow and shrinks cubes. Second, water pressure: a kinked or partially closed saddle valve starves the ice maker.
Third, freezer temperature: ice production slows sharply above 10°F in the freezer, so confirm the freezer is holding 0°F.
Checked all three and still slow? The inlet valve or the ice maker motor itself is the likely fault — a quick, common repair.
